6. Paramagnetic relaxation reagents : nuclear magnetic resonance studies of preferential solvation
Sammanfattning : The interactions between neutral paramagnetic relaxation reagents (PARR's) and certain aromatic compounds have been studied by 1H and 13 C spin-lattice relaxation time measurements. In media such as cyclohexane and carbon tetrachloride, Cr(acac)3 becomes preferentially solvated by aromatic solutes. LÄS MER
7. Recurrent Headache among Swedish Adolescents : Psychosocial Factors, Coping and Effects of Relaxation Treatment
Sammanfattning : Overall aims of the present thesis were to study the prevalence and psychosocial impact of recurrent headache within a school population in comparison with other types of pain and to examine the use and efficacy of various coping strategies. Further aims were to compare the effects of relaxation treatment among adolescents with recurrent headache to a waiting-list control group, and finally to examine the efficacy of relaxation training administered in a school setting. 8. Relaxation and Resonance in Brownian Motion-Coupled Resonators
Sammanfattning : In physics, there exists a number of paradigm systems – exactly solvable models that can represent a wide variety of physical realizations. My research is concerned with two of these paradigm systems: the harmonic oscillator and Brownian motion. LÄS MER
9. Mass Transport Properties in Supramolecular Systems Studied by Diffusion and Relaxation NMR
Sammanfattning : This thesis shows how diffusion and relaxation NMR can be applied in various aspects to study mass transport in supramolecular systems. Information about these systems can be obtained, either by direct measurement of the molecules that are incorporated in a supramolecular structure, or via probe molecules, which indirectly gives information about the system. 10. Water Relaxation Processes as Seen by NMR Spectroscopy Using MD and BD Simulations
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes water proton and deuterium relaxation processes, as seen by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, using Brownian Dynamics (BD) or Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. The MD simulations reveal new detailed information about the dynamics and order of water molecules outside of a lipid bilayer. LÄS MER
