  1. 1. Understanding the mechanisms behind atom transfer radical polymerization : exploring the limit of control

    Författare :Helena Bergenudd; Mats Jonsson; Eva Malmström Jonsson; David M Haddleton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polymerization; controlled radical polymerization; atom transfer radical polymerization; kinetics; catalysis; electrochemistry; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) is one of the most commonly employed techniques for controlled radical polymerization. ATRP has great potential for the development of new materials due to the ability to control molecular weight and polymer architecture. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Lipase chemoselectivity - kinetics and applications

    Författare :Cecilia Hedfors; Karl Hult; Mats Martinelle; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Candida antarctica lipase B; Rhizomucor miehei lipase; active site titration; kinetics; chemoselectivity; thiol; alcohol; thiol-functionalized polyesters; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning :   A chemoselective catalyst is preferred in a chemical reaction where protecting groups otherwise are needed. The two lipases Candida antarctica lipase B and Rhizomucor miehei lipase showed large chemoselectivity ratios, defined as (kcat/KM)OH / (kcat/KM)SH, in a transacylation reaction with ethyl octanoate as acyl donor and hexanol or hexanethiol as acyl acceptor (paper I). 3. 3. In Vitro Kinetics of Ribosomal Incorporation of Unnatural Amino Acids

    Författare :Jinfan Wang; Anthony Forster; Jason Chin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ribosome; protein synthesis; unnatural amino acids; kinetics; Biology with specialization in Molecular Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Ribosomal incorporation of unnatural amino acids (AAs) into peptides or proteins has found broad applications in studying translation mechanism, discovering potential therapeutics, and probing protein structure and function. However, such applications are generally limited by the low incorporation efficiencies of the unnatural AAs. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fabrication of polymeric microfluidic devices via photocurable liquid monomers

    Författare :Klas Tommy Haraldsson; Mats K. G. Johansson; Ken Carter; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photopolymerization; radical photopolymerization; polymerization kinetics; photoinitiation; vinyl ether; maleate; vinyloxy; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Microfluidic devices have long been considered an ideal tool for rapid and inexpensive chemical analysis and reactions in areas ranging from point-of-care health to national security applications. However, fabricating microfluidic devices is time consuming, difficult and above all expensive. LÄS MER
