21. Mechanical and swelling properties of hydrogels
Sammanfattning : Hydrogels have been used as one of the novel soft materials in many biomedical applications such as drug delivery and tissue engineering for recent decades. In the main part of this work, bi-functional poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) precursors with either thiols (PEG-SH) or allyls (PEG-Al) , covering molecular weights from 3 kDa to 8 kDa were synthesized and thoroughly characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-Raman and MALDI-TOF techniques. 22. Exploring bis-MPA Based Dendritic Structures in Biomedicine
Sammanfattning : In the last decades there has been significant advances in polymer chemistry. New coupling chemistries, polymerization techniques and accelerated approaches enable researches to push the limits of structural control. LÄS MER
23. Tailored cellulosic materials by physical adsorption of polyelectrolytes
Sammanfattning : The growing interest in using bio-based resources has made forest-based cellulose (used as fibre and nanofibril building elements) a good candidate for the development of new materials. In order to be used in commercial applications, cellulose must however be processed and/or functionalized to provide the final material with specific properties. LÄS MER
24. Cellulose in Quaternary Ammonium-based Solvents: Dissolution, Modification and Coagulation
Sammanfattning : Processing cellulose through dissolution and regeneration is essential for many applications, yet challenges are posed because it does not readily melt or dissolve in commonly used aqueous and organic solvents. Consequently, extensive efforts have been devoted to developing novel and efficient solvents for cellulose, as well as exploring new functionalization routes. LÄS MER
25. Catanionic Aggregates in Gels : Prolonged Drug Release and Potential Implications for Topical Use
Sammanfattning : Gels are popular dosage forms. This topical dosage form may be advantageous compared to oral or parenteral dosage forms. Favorable rheological or bioadhesive properties of gels might provide extended contact times at the site of administration compared to aqueous solutions. LÄS MER
