  1. 16. Thiol-Ene CHemistry and Dopa-Functional Materials towards Biomedical Applications

    Författare :Kristina Olofsson; Anders Hult; Michael Malkoch; Anders Daugaard; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Thiol-ene chemistry; DOPA; biomedical; UV; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Thiol-ene chemistry is versatile and efficient and can be used as a powerful tool in polymer synthesis. In this thesis, the concept of thiol-ene chemistry has been central, where it has been explored as a tool for the synthesis of well-defined hydrogels and dopa-functional materials towards biomedical applications; such as hydrogels, primers for adhesive fixation of bone fractures, self-healing gels, and micelles for drug-delivery. Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis focuses on the development of strategies and smart bioactive materials for the treatment of osteoporosis. High and low molecular weight soluble hyaluronic acid-bisphosphonate (HA-BP) derivatives were investigated for their ability to inhibit osteoclasts. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Radiotherapy Gel Dosimetry: Development and Application of Normoxic Polymer Gels

    Författare :Helen Gustafsson; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Radiofarmaceutisk teknik; Radiopharmaceutical technology; proton; LET; FT Raman spectroscopy; MRI; normoxic gel; IMRT; 3D verification; polymer gel dosimetry; radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : In many radiotherapy applications, true three-dimensional dosimetry with good spatial resolution that can be achieved in a single measurement would be of great value. Polymer gel dosimetry fulfils many of the demands on such a system. In this study, methods to facilitate the implementation of gel dosimetry have been investigated. LÄS MER
