1. Phytoremediation of soil contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons and trace elements
Sammanfattning : The rapid urbanization and industrialization has led to an increase of disposal petroleum hydrocarbons (PHC) and trace elements (TE) into the environment. These pollutants are considered as the most toxic contaminants in the world due to their persistence in the environment, and the long range of toxicological effects for living beings. LÄS MER
2. Thermal Modelling of the Caledonian Basin, Scandinavia and a Northern North Sea Profile
Sammanfattning : The reason for the registered high paleotemperatures of the Scandinavian Alum Shale was investigated by heat flow modelling constrained by vitrinite-like reflectance. The behaviour of the lithosphere under a load was modelled and the paleotemperatures were explained by burial of the Alum Shale in a foreland basin, developing during the Caledonian orogeny. LÄS MER
3. Arctic Offshore Hydrocarbon Resource Development : Past, Present and Vision of the Future
Sammanfattning : Energy issues have always been on the global economics and geopolitics agenda, even though energy sources have been changing over time.In recent years, the awareness of Arctic offshore oil and natural gas development has escalated, yielding economic opportunities and incurring risks. 4. Experimental investigation of hydrocarbon formation and transformation under Earth´s upper mantle conditions
Sammanfattning : The theory of the abyssal abiotic petroleum origin considers oil and natural gas to begenerated in the Earth’s upper mantle. Hydrocarbons migrate further through the deep faults into the Earth’s crust, where they can form oil and gas deposits in any kind of rock in any kind of structural position. LÄS MER
5. Biological Treatment of Oily Sludge and Sediments
Sammanfattning : AbstractOily sludge, generated in refineries or in other industrial sectors, and oil-containing sediments, removed from water bodies during remediation works, pose an environmental problem. A common feature between both is their high water content, and variable content of organic and inorganic contaminants, which complicates their treatment. LÄS MER
