  1. 1. Vegetation history, human impact and palaeogeography of West Estonia : Pollen analytical studies of lake and bog sediments

    Författare :Siim Veski; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Vegetation history; human impact; palaeogeography; shoreline displacement; The Baltic Sea; the Yoldia Sea; the Ancylus Lake; the Litorina Sea; pollen analysis; macro fossil analysis; bog and lake sediments; radiocarbon dating; Holocene; Estonia; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Earth Sciences with Specialization Environmental Analysis; geovetenskap med inriktning mot miljöanalys;

    Sammanfattning : The history of Holocene vegetation in western Estonia and the West Estonian Archipelago is described. Early Holocene sea level changes in the area are reconstructed, and human impact on the vegetation during the Late Holocene is discussed West Estonia was divided into five study areas (Rummu-Maardu, Mustjärve, Velise-Kiilaspere, Tôstamaa Peninsula, and northern Saaremaa in the West Estonian Archipelago, from north to south). 2. 2. Geography and geometry of pre-Caledonian western Baltica: U-Pb geochronology and Palaeomagnetism

    Författare :Emma Rehnström; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical geography; geomorphology; pedology; cartography; climatology; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi; Fennoscandia; correlations; Baltica; Early Palaeozoikum; palaeogeography; orthogneisses; nappes; palaeomagnetism; U-Pb geochronology; Caledonian orogen; Scandinavia;

    Sammanfattning : In an attempt to reconstruct the pre-Caledonian cratonic margin of Fennoscandia, U-Pb geochronological and geochemical investigations have been performed on allochthonous orthogneisses in the northern Swedish Caledonides. The crystalline basement of the nappes have also been examined to further constrain the continuation of various chronologically defined orogenic belts. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Early Cambrian Fauna of North-East Greenland

    Författare :Christian B. Skovsted; John S. Peel; Lars E. Holmer; Gerd Geyer; Uppsala universitet; []

  5. 5. Asian monsoon over mainland Southeast Asia in the past 25 000 years

    Författare :Akkaneewut Chabangborn; Barbara Wohlfarth; Karen Kohfeld; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asian monsoon; ITCZ; palaeo-vegetation; palaeoclimate; lake sediment; Last Glacial Maximum; Holocene; Marine Geoscience; marin geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this research is to interpret high-resolution palaeo-proxy data sets to understand the Asian summer monsoon variability in the past. This was done by synthesizing published palaeo-records from the Asian monsoon region, model simulation comparisons, and analysing new lake sedimentary records from northeast Thailand. LÄS MER
