1. Microstructural, Mechanical and Tribological Characterisation of CVD and PVD Coatings for Metal Cutting Applications
Sammanfattning : The present thesis focuses on characterisation of microstructure and the resulting mechanical and tribological properties of CVD and PVD coatings used in metal cutting applications. These thin and hard coatings are designed to improve the tribological performance of cutting tools which in metal cutting operations may result in improved cutting performance, lower energy consumption, lower production costs and lower impact on the environment. 2. Development and performance evaluation of accident-tolerant coated fuel claddings for light water reactors
Sammanfattning : The development of accident tolerant fuel has the aim of providing nuclear fuels able to endure severe accident conditions. Research in this field has also sparked a wave of material renewal in the nuclear industry that had been delayed for the last few decades. LÄS MER
3. Hollow Cathode Deposition of Thin Films
Sammanfattning : Thin films of metals and compounds have a very wide range of applications today. Many of the deposition methods used for the production of such films utilize plasma to support the growth the film, e.g. by the supply of energy and the enhancement of reactivity. LÄS MER
4. Optical studies of AlN and GaO based nanostructures using Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometry
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the diverse optical properties manifested when light interacts with various materials, with an emphasis on circular polarization- and bandgaprelated phenomena. The studies in this work are centered around Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometry, with the objective of synthesizing and characterizing nanostructured and high-quality thin films to expand our understanding of the optical properties arising from their underlying structure and electronic transitions, respectively. 5. Painful Sex in Context : Understanding Vulvodynia from a Relational Perspective
Sammanfattning : Vulvodynia is a multifactorial persistent pain condition, characterized by pain in the vulva upon touch or pressure. It negatively impacts sexual function, satisfaction, and relational wellbeing. Relational factors have been indicated as integral to the understanding and outcomes of vulvodynia. LÄS MER
