2. Organic acids in root exudates and soil solutions. Importance to calcicole and calcifuge behaviour of plants
Sammanfattning : Many vascular plant species are unable to colonise calcareous sites, the floristic composition of adjacent limestone and acid silicate soils differing markedly. The inability of these 'calcifuge' species to establish themselves and grow on limestone soil appears to mainly be related to their low capacity for solubilising and absorbing phosphate and/or iron from such soils. 3. Effects of Bio-Ash Amendments on the Metabolism of Ectomycorrhizal Fungi : A Method Development and Metabolomic Study
Sammanfattning : Forest ecosystems have played a fundamental role in the development of our society. Since the beginning of the civilization, forest have provided us with wood as a product for construction, tools, furniture and domestic heating. The well-being of the forest is therefore fundamental to our existence. LÄS MER
4. Methane dynamics in northern wetlands: Significance of vascular plants
Sammanfattning : The studies presented in Papers I to VI illustrate several different aspects of the impact of vascular plants on methane emissions from northern natural wetlands. The subject has been approached on different scales, ranging from the study of microbial substrates in the vicinity of a single plant root, to an attempt to extrapolate some of the results to the entire northern hemisphere north of 50°N. 5. Organic Electrochemical Transistors : Materials and Challenges
Sammanfattning : The use of organic mixed ionic-electronic conductors (OMIECs) has demonstrated the potential to transform the field of bioelectronics, spanning from medical diagnostics to neuromorphic computing hardware. To keep up with the fast-paced demands, it is crucial to develop customizable device fabrication, design new materials, improve operation stability, and explore the ion-electron interactions within OMIECs.
