1. On Brain Oedema
Sammanfattning : Traumatic brain injury and bacterial meningitis may at a glance appear as two different disease entities. The host reaction, however, to both trauma and infection involves a strong inflammatory response, with the classical symptomology of rubor, tumor, calor, dolor et functio laesa. LÄS MER
2. Characterization of cutaneous oedema : modelling and mesurements methods
Sammanfattning : Three different methods have been developed to characterize oedema. The methods can be applied on any site of the skin to study the effect of oedema on the mechanical properties of the skin. Changes in the viscoelastic properties of the oedematous tissues after treatment can be monitored by these methods. LÄS MER
3. Water physiology in burn victims
Sammanfattning : Patients who sustain a burn injury of more than 20 - 30 % TBSA will, if untreated, develop burn shock within a couple of hours. Flcid is lost fi·om the vascular compartment due to suction from the interstitium of the wound and due to a generalised increase in vascular permeability. LÄS MER
4. Low back pain in adolescent athletes

During adolescents, the LBP often is considered as non- specific without structural findings and thus not needed to be further diagnosed or treated specifically. LÄS MER
5. Vascular effects of prostacyclin in cat skeletal muscle and in the traumatised rat brain
Sammanfattning : Disturbances in microvascular function may be important for tissue damage in many disease states. Prostacyclin, a substance produced by endothelial cells, is important for the maintenance of normal vascular homeostasis and is a potential drug for treatment of microvascular dysfunction, but indications and optimal dosage remains to be established.
