1. The neutron-induced fission cross section of 233Pa : and the quest for clean and safe nuclear energy
Sammanfattning : Neutron-induced fission of 233Pa has been investigated between 1.0 and 8.5 MeV, and the reaction cross section was determined. Due to the short half-life of 233Pa for β-decay, fission events from the daughter product 233U affect the analysis of the protactinium experiment. LÄS MER
2. Measurements of Neutron-induced Nuclear Reactions for More Precise Standard Cross Sections and Correlated Fission Properties
Sammanfattning : It is difficult to underestimate the importance of neutron cross section standards in the nuclear data field. Accurate and precise standards are prerequisites for measuring neutron cross sections. Two different projects are presented here with the aim of improving on neutron standards. LÄS MER
3. Studying neutron-induced fission at IGISOL-4 : From neutron source to yield measurements and model comparisons
Sammanfattning : Fission yields represent the probability of producing a certain nuclide in a fission event, and are important observables for fission research. For applications, accurate knowledge of the yields is fundamental at all stages of the fuel cycle of nuclear reactors, e.g., for reactivity calculations, or to estimate (spent) fuel inventory. 4. Fragment Mass Distributions in Neutron-Induced Fission of 232Th and 238U from 10 to 60 MeV
Sammanfattning : Since its discovery, the phenomenon of nuclear fission is the object of extensive theoretical and experimental studies. However, we are still far from a complete understanding of the fission process. LÄS MER
5. Benchmark of simulation of an ion guide for neutron-induced fission products
Sammanfattning : Independent yield distributions of high-energy neutron-induced fission are of importance to achieve a good understanding of fission. Even though the mass and charge yield distributions of thermal neutron-induced fission are well known, there are few experimental data for high-energy neutron-induced fission. LÄS MER
