Sammanfattning : Despite the unprecedented improvement in child health in last 15 years, burden of stillbirth and neonatal death remain the key challenge in Nepal and the reduction of these deaths will be crucial for reaching the health targets for Sustainable development goal by 2030.The aim of this thesis was to explore the risk factors for stillbirth and neonatal death and change in perinatal outcomes after the introduction of the Helping Babies Breathe Quality Improvement Cycle (HBB QIC) in Nepal. Sammanfattning : Despite profound progress made in reducing neonatal mortality, it remains one of the major global health challenges. In 2019, the World Health Organization estimated that 2.4 million neonatal deaths occurred, accounting for over 45 percent of under-5 deaths worldwide. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Acidaemia at Birth: Risk factors, diagnosis and prognosis, with special reference to maternal fever in labour

Författare :Andreas Herbst; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []

Sammanfattning : Acidaemia at birth is a result of an impaired intrauterine gas exchange. Between 1988 and 1996, acid-base balance in cord artery blood pH was assessed in 23 016 of 27 064 newborns (85%). Obstetric risk factors for acidaemia (cord artery pH < 7.05) were identified in a case-control study. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Neonatal invasive infections with focus on Group B streptococci

Sammanfattning : Invasive infections affect neonates with the risk of severe morbidity and death, and Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B streptococcus, GBS) remains one of the most common pathogens. The aim of this thesis was to assess infections among neonates and infants, focusing on GBS to better understand prevention and treatment. LÄS MER
