1. Semiconductor Nanoelectronic Devices Based on Ballistic and Quantum Effects
Sammanfattning : As current silicon-based microelectronic devices and circuits are approaching their fundamental limits, the research field of nanoelectronics is emerging worldwide. With this background, the present thesis focuses on semiconductor nanoelectronic devices based on ballistic and quantum effects. The main material studied was a modulation doped In0. LÄS MER
2. Quantum and Ballistic Nanodevices
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, electron transport in quantum and ballistic devices was studied. The devices studied here were quantum wires, planar quantum dots, ballistic rectifiers, artificial functional materials, and three-terminal ballistic junctions. The possible application of such devices in the future nanoelectronics was also investigated. LÄS MER
3. Optical properties of silver nanostructures prepared by electron beam lithography
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, electron beam lithography (EBL) has been used to fabricate substrates for studies of nanoparticle optics, in particular for the investigation of noble metal nanoparticles and their tunable optical properties. The strong interaction of metal nanoparticles with light has its origin in the resonant excitation of collective oscillations of conduction electrons, so called localized surface plasmons (LSP). 4. Crack-junctions : Bridging the gap between nano electronics and giga manufacturing
Sammanfattning : Obtaining both nanometer precision of patterning and parallel fabrication on wafer-scale is currently not possible in conventional fabrication schemes. Just as we are looking beyond semiconductor technologies for next-generation electronics and photonics, our efforts turn to new ways of producing electronic and photonic interfaces with the nanoscale. 5. Determining and Optimizing the Current and Magnetic Field Dependence of Spin-Torque and Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators : Toward Next-Generation Nanoelectronic Devices and Systems
Sammanfattning : Spin-torque and spin Hall nano-oscillators are nanoscale devices (about 100 nm) capable of producing tunable broadband high-frequency microwave signals ranging from 0.1 GHz to over 65 GHz that several research groups trying to reach up to 200 - 300 GHz. LÄS MER
