1. Multifunctional Dendritic Scaffolds: Synthesis, Characterization and Potential applications
Sammanfattning : The development of materials for advanced applications requires innovative macromolecules with well-defined structures and the inherent ability to be tailored in a straightforward manner. Dendrimers, being a subgroup of the dendritic polymer family, possess properties which fulfill such demands. LÄS MER
2. Fabrication of Polymer Electrolytes for 3D-Microbatteries
Sammanfattning : Pressing demands on electrical energy storage require high power and high energy density rechargeable batteries with improved safety, reliable performance and low cost. This has led to reconsiderations in the choice of battery chemistry and battery design. LÄS MER
3. Atom transfer radical polymerization from multifunctional substrates
Sammanfattning : Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) has proven to be a powerful technique to obtain polymers with narrow polydispersities and controlled molecular weight. It also offers control over chain-ends. LÄS MER
4. Photocuring of multifunctional monomers initiated by camphorquinone / amine systems for application in dental restorative resins
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the photopolymerization of mono-, di- and trifunctional monomers initiated by carnphorquinone (CQ) alone and/or with different amines (AMH) as coinitiators in air as well in nitrogen. The kinetics of photopolymerization was measured by photoisothermal calorimetry (photo-DSC), which allowed the measurement of the rate of polymerization (Rp), maximum rate of polymerization (Rpmax), time of inhibition (tinh), time at which Rpmax was obtained (tmax), double bond conversion (p) and maximum double bond conversion (pmax). 5. Design of Functional Degradable Aliphatic Polyesters and Porous Tissue Engineering Scaffolds
Sammanfattning : The regeneration of damaged tissues or organs using porous scaffolds which act as temporary guides for the patient’s own cells, i.e. tissue engineering, is a means to overcome the shortcomings of current standard medical treatments. LÄS MER
