  1. 1. On the Oxidation Behaviour of MoSi2 and (Mo,W)Si2 - The Influence of Oxygen and Water Vapour

    Författare :Kristina Hansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; temperature dependence; oxidation; Mo2 OH 2; MoSi2; Mo; W Si2; water vapour;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the oxidation of a clay-bonded MoSi2 composite (KanthalSuper 1800) and a clay-bonded (Mo,W)Si2-based composite (KanthalSuper 1900) which are used as heating elements at temperatures of up to approximately 1800°C and 1850°C, respectively, in industrial furnaces. These ceramics are ideal for use at these temperatures due to their excellent oxidation behaviour at high temperatures, which is ascribed to the formation of a protective silica scale. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Acoustic Platform for MXene Synthesis and Electrochemical Behaviour of i-MXenes in Aqueous Electrolytes

    Författare :Ahmed El Ghazaly; Johanna Rosén; Ahmed Etman; Husam N. Alshareef; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface Acoustic Waves; MXene; i-MXene; Supercapacitor;

    Sammanfattning : Climate Change is believed to be the greatest global challenge and on its forefront is the topic of energy. While being of extreme importance, debates over energy have become a normality. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Synthesis and transport properties of 2D transition metal carbides (MXenes)

    Författare :Joseph Halim; Michel Barsoum; Lars Hultman; Per Eklund; Johanna Rosén; Martin Magnuson; Jun Lu; Christina Birkel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Since the isolation and characterization of graphene, there has been a growing interest in 2D materials owing to their unique properties compared to their 3D counterparts. Recently, a family of 2D materials of early transition metal carbides and nitrides, labelled MXenes, has been discovered (Ti2CTz, Ti3C2Tz, Mo2TiC2Tz, Ti3CNTz, Ta4C3Tz, Ti4N3Tz among many others), where T stands for surface-terminating groups (O, OH, and F). 4. 4. Surface characterization of 2D transition metal carbides (MXenes)

    Författare :Ingemar Persson; Per Persson; Justinas Palisaitis; Johanna Rosén; Vanya Darakchieva; Vincent Mauchamp; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Research on two-dimensional (2D) materials is a rapidly growing field owing to the wide range of new interesting properties found in 2D structures that are vastly different from their three-dimensional (3D) analogues. In addition, 2D materials embodies a significant surface area that facilitates a high degree of surface reactions per unit volume or mass, that is imperative in many applications such as catalysis, energy storage, energy conversion, filtration, and single molecule sensing.
