  1. 1. Studies of Elastomer Matrix Flow Mechanisms in Nonwoven Reinforced Composites

    Författare :Mikael Epstein; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this work was to develop a suitable technique for fabricating elastomer composites based on three-dimensional fibrous materials and to study the rheological behavior of matrix polymer in these structures with varied structural and fiber surface characteristics. A new type of mold was developed and tested for structural reaction injection molding (SRIM) of elastomer composites having polymer matrices made from a mixture of two components. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Multipotent mesenchymal stromal cell transplantation : possible viral complications and alloimmunity

    Författare :Mikael Sundin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Mesenchymal stem cell; immunogenicity; viruses; transplantation; antibodies; GvHD;

    Sammanfattning : In the last few years, human multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) have been increasingly used in novel therapeutic strategies due to their intrinsic immunosuppressive, anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. In hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), a curable treatment of hematological malignancies and several non-malignant conditions, MSC have been used as a therapy for graft-versus host-disease (GvHD) and other complications. 3. 3. Insights into the processes preceding the onset of rheumatoid arthritis

    Författare :Linda Johansson; Solbritt Rantapää Dahlqvist; Mikael Brink; Felipe Andrade; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rheumatoid arthritis; pre-symptomatic individuals; autoantibodies; anti-citrullinated protein peptides antibodies; Epstein-barr virus; neutrophil extracellular traps; periodontitis; Porphyromonas gingivalis; receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand; reumatologi; rheumatology;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease, characterized by the production of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA) in the majority of all patients and a persistent inflammation in the synovial tissue leading to joint destruction. The aetiology of RA remains to a large extent unknown but is believed to be a complex interplay between genetic, environmental and stochastic factors. LÄS MER
