  1. 1. Microangiopathies of the human brain b immunohistochemical studies on extracellular matrix components in arterial vessels and endothelin

    Författare :Wei Wei Zhang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Microangiopathy; human brain; hyalinosis; amyloid angiopathy; CADASIL; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Microangiopathies may cause ischemic brain lesions and are of fundamental importance in vascular dementia. Risk factors include high age, hypertension, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Effects of PDGF-B gene inactivation in endothelial cell

    Författare :Mattias Bjarnegård; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :gene targeting; Cre loxP; PDGF; pericyte; mouse; microangiopathy;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor-B (PDGF-B) is expressed by endothelial cells, neurons, macrophages and platelets. The relative importance of these cellular PDGF-B sources in vivo has been addressed by the creation of a conditional PDGF-B allele, which in the presence of a specific recombinase can be silenced in different tissues. 3. 3. Diabetic skin microangiopathy : studies on pathogenesis and treatment

    Författare :Majid Kalani; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Diabetes mellitus; chronic foot ulcers; skin microcirculation; peripheral arterial occlusive disease; blood coagulation; fibrinolysis; fibrin gel structure; low molecular weight heparin; dalteparin.;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Most of late diabetic complications have their basis in a disturbed microcirculation, i.e. diabetic microangiopathy. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Microvesicles, skin microcirculation and clinical microangiopathy in type 1 diabetes

    Författare :Karin Bergen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Type 1 diabetes is a proinflammatory and prothrombotic disease associated with a highly elevated risk of microvascular complications, including nephropathy, retinopathy, and neuropathy, as well as premature cardiovascular disease. Aim: this thesis sought to study plasma microvesicles (MVs) and skin microcirculation in relation to clinical microangiopathy in type 1 diabetes, to try to identify potential clinical biomarkers. 5. 5. Studies of EHEC and the complement system in renal diseases

    Författare :Zivile Békassy; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; EHEC; hemolytic uremic syndrome; thrombotic microangiopathy; atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome; alternative pathway of complement; dense deposit disease; eculizumab;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addressed the diagnosis, pathogenesis and clinical course of specific renal diseases hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and dense deposit disease (DDD). HUS may be associated with infection caused by Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) or with complement dysfunction due to complement mutations or auto-antibodies (atypical HUS, aHUS). LÄS MER
