1. Bacterial use of allochthonous organic carbon for respiration and growth in boreal freshwater systems
Sammanfattning : Aquatic systems worldwide receive large amounts of organic carbon from terrestrial sources. This ‘allochthonous’ organic carbon (AlloOC) affects critical physical and chemical properties of freshwater ecosystems, with consequences for food web structures and exchange of greenhouse gases with the atmosphere. 2.

Residential homes change owners for numerous reasons, and there is a need for these transactions to be secure and efficient from both the economic and individual perspective. LÄS MER
4. Population-based studies in Myelodysplastic syndromes : Prognostic scores, socioeconomic status, and therapy-related disease
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to expand the epidemiological knowledge of the haematological malignancy MDS and the related condition chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML). Using nationwide registers, the papers in this thesis address aspects of prognostication, comorbidity, socioeconomic status, and therapy-related disease, using a population-based approach. LÄS MER
5. Adjoint-based aerodynamic shape optimization
Sammanfattning : An adjoint system of the Euler equations of gas dynamics is derived in order to solve aerodynamic shape optimization problems with gradient-based methods. The derivation is based on the fully discrete flow model and involves differentiation and transposition of the system of equations obtained by an unstructured and node-centered finite-volume discretization.
