  1. 1. Natural killer cell tolerance : influence of the MHC class I expression in the host

    Författare :Maria H Johansson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :NK cells; MHC class 1; tolerance; transgenic mice; Ly49;

    Sammanfattning : Development of self-tolerance in the immune system is characterized by somatic processes aiming at permanently eliminating, or silencing, potentially autoreactive lymphocytes. Such tolerance mechanisms are of outmost importance if autoimmunity is to be avoided. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Packing effects in palladium(II) and platinum(II) compounds, X-ray crystallography

    Författare :Maria Johansson; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inorganic chemistry; Platinum II ; Palladium II ; Half-normal probability plots; X-ray crystallography; Packing effects; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on i) the effect of packing on the molecular geometry ii) packing arrangements of neutral Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes iii) the trans influence in Pt(II) complexes iv) the differences in bonding in corresponding Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes and v) the geometry of Pd(II) complexes with potential catalytic properties. Detailed three-dimensional structural information at the atomic level can be obtained from X-ray crystallography. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Non-image-forming effects of light : Implications for the design of living and working environments

    Författare :Mathias Adamsson; Thorbjörn Laike; Maria Johansson; Yvonne de Kort; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; circadian rhythms; circannual; light exposure; melatonin; cortisol; sleep-wake behavior; perception; mood; spectral composition; measurement;

    Sammanfattning : Seasonal variation in mood and subjective well-being are common at geographical locations further away from the equator. The 24-h light-dark cycle is the main time cue for synchronizing the human circadian clock to the external day and night. LÄS MER
