  1. 1. Legged locomotion : Balance, control and tools - from equation to action

    Författare :Christian Ridderström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :legged locomotion; control; balance; legged machines; legged robots; walking robots; walking machines; compliance; platform stability;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is about control and balance stability of leggedlocomotion. It also presents a combination of tools that makesit easier to design controllers for large and complicated robotsystems. The thesis is divided into four parts. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computer Simulation of the Neural Control of Locomotion in the Cat

    Författare :Nalin Harischandra; Örjan Ekeberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Locomotion; Computer simulation; Central pattern generator; Muscle activation; Linear transfer functions; Sensory feedback; Neural control; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Locomotion is one of the most important behaviours and requires interaction between sensors at various levels of the nervous system and the limb muscles of an animal. The basic neural rhythm for locomotion in mammals has been shown to arise from local neural networks residing in the spinal cord and these networks are known as central pattern generators (CPGs). Sammanfattning : Locomotion is an integral part of a whole range of animal behaviours. The basic rhythm for locomotion in vertebrates has been shown to arise from local networks residing in the spinal cord and these networks are known as central pattern generators (CPG). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Spinal Control of Locomotion : Developmental and Functional Aspects

    Författare :Nadine Rabe; Klas Kullander; Artur Kania; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuronal network; commissural interneuron; developmental interneuron subtypes; V3; mouse genetics; Pitx2; axon guidance; netrin-1; DCC; EphA4; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap; Medicinsk utvecklings- och neurobiologi; Developmental Neurosciences; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : Neuronal networks are the central functional units of the nervous system. Knowledge about the identity of participating neurons and the assembly of these during development is crucial for the understanding of CNS function. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Motility of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes : An image processing approach

    Författare :Mikael Gustafsson; Erik Gylfe; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Human polymorphonuclear leukocytes; locomotion; phagocytosis; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; membrane transport; intracellular free calcium; cellular pH; water influx; actin dynamics; digital video microscopy; image processing; fura-2; BCECF; DII; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Cell motility is essential for polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN) function in the defense against invading microorganisms and in inflammatory processes. Using digital video microscopy and image processing, individual cells were studied during random locomotion, chemotactic locomotion and phagocytosis. LÄS MER
