1. Crystallization of Metal Fluoride Hydrates from Mixed Acid Solutions
Sammanfattning : In this work crystal growth and nucleation of b-FeF3×3H2O and crystallization of chromium (III), iron (III) and nickel (II) fluoride hydrates from mixed acid (1-3 mol/kg HNO3 and 1-6 mol/kg free HF) have been investigated. The solubility of b-FeF3×3H2O has been determined in solutions of different hydrofluoric acid (1-7mol/ kg) and nitric acid (0-7mol/ kg) concentrations at 30, 40 and 50°C. LÄS MER
2. Macroscopic models of Chinese hamster ovary cell cultures
Sammanfattning : Biopharmaceuticals treat a range of diseases, and is a growing sector within the pharmaceutical industry. A majority of these complex molecules are produced by genetically modified mammalian cells in large-scale cell cultures. LÄS MER
3. Lewis Acid Mediated [2,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement of Allylic Ammonium Ylides
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes a Lewis acid mediated[2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of various allylic ammoniumylides. Several Lewis acids are investigated and BBr3 and BF3are established to be the Lewis acids providing the highestconversion of the starting allylic amines. LÄS MER
4. Development of New Methodology in Organic Synthesis: Lewis Acid-Mediated Rearrangements of Ammonium Ylides and Addition of 1, 3-bis(silyl) propenes to Aldehydes
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the development of new methodologies in organicsynthesis. The main focus is on the development of Lewis acid-mediated [1,2]-rearrangements of ammonium ylides and the novel addition of 1,3-bis(silyl)propenes to carbonyl compounds. LÄS MER
5. Lewis acid Mediated Aza-Diels-Alder Reactions and Asymmetric Alkylations of 2H-azirines
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the use of 2H-azirines, three-membered unsaturatednitrogen-containing heterocycles, as reactive intermediates ina number of Lewis acid promoted alkylations and Diels-Alderreactions providing synthetically useful aziridines. In order to carry out this investigation a new generalprocedure for the ring closure of vinyl azides, forming theresultant 3-substituted-2H-azirines, was developed applying low boiling solventsin closed reaction vessels at elevated temperatures.
