6. The role of androgen in prostate cancer cell invasion
Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in developed countries. Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is the mainstay treatment for patient diagnosed with PCa. However, the cancer will eventually relapse with metastatic cancer and become resistant to the treatment. 7. Radioimmunoimaging and Radioimmunotherapy of Prostate Cancer Preclinical evaluation of kallikrein related peptidase 2 targeting
Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is one of the major causes of cancer related deaths in men in Europe and the United States. In this doctoral thesis, radioimmunoimaging and -therapy of prostate cancer was investigated pre-clinically by targeting the human kallikrein-related peptidase 2 (hK2) with radiolabelled monoclonal antibodies. 8. Adenovirus-mediated Gene Therapy of Prostate Cancer
Sammanfattning : Adenovirus-mediated gene therapy is a potential complement to standard cancer treatments. Advantages are that vectors can be used to target tumors and that replicating viruses lead to increased therapeutic dosage. LÄS MER
9. Somatostatin effects on the proteome of human prostate cancer cells
Sammanfattning : The transition of prostate cancer from androgen dependent to the therapy resistant androgen independent state, is a large and persistent problem in the clinical management of prostate cancer. The aim of this thesis was to study somatostatin effects on the proteome of prostate cancer cells, to identify differences in protein expression in androgen dependent and androgen independent prostate cancer cells, and to explore possibilities to enhance the somatostatin receptor expression through pre-treatment with sms, 5-aza and TSA (DNA methylation/HDAC inhibitors). 10. Tools for the Advancement of Radiopharmaceutical Therapy
Sammanfattning : Radiopharmaceutical therapy is used to treat cancers and other diseases with radiolabeled pharmaceuticals. The treatment targets specific cells, and the emitted ionizing radiation cause cytotoxic damage. Dosimetry is performed to estimate the absorbed dose from the energy deposited in the body. LÄS MER
