1. Moral Reality. A Defence of Moral Realism
Sammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis is to defend moral realism. In chapter 1, I argue that moral realism is best understood as the view that (1) moral sentences have truth-value (cognitivism), (2) there are moral properties that make some moral sentences true (success-theory), and (3) moral properties are not reducible to non-moral properties (non-reductionism). 2. Top Quarks at the Tevatron : Measurements of the Top Quark Production and Decay with the D0 Experiment
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents two measurements of the top quark using 230 pb-1 of data taken with the D0 detector at the Tevatron accelerator. The first measurement determines the top pair production cross section at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV in proton-antiproton collisions. LÄS MER
3. Development of a Method to Measure Plasma Levels of Activated Protein C in Complex with Protein C Inhibitor
Sammanfattning : Acute myocardial infarction (MI) and deep venous thrombosis (DVT) are conditions caused by thrombus formation with activation of the coagulation system. The plasma concentration of the complex between activated protein C (APC) and protein C inhibitor (PCI), APC–PCI complex is increased in such states. LÄS MER
4. Levels of brominated flame retardants in humans and their environment : occupational and home exposure
Sammanfattning : Plasma from workers at an electronic dismantling plant were analysed for tri- to heptaBDEs (brominated diphenyl ethers), during 18 months. The different exposed groups showed concentrations ranging from 0.06to 2.8 ng g-1 (l. LÄS MER
5. "Mitt hems gränser vidgades" : En studie i den kulturella skandinavismen under 1800-talet
