    Sammanfattning : The antitumoural cyanoguanidine CHS 828 has shown promising activity in a number of preclinical and clinical studies. However, the mechanisms underlying the cell death induced by CHS 828 has not been clarified. This thesis describes in vitro studies of the cellular pharmacology of CHS 828. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The cell cycle regulators p18Ink4c and p19Ink4d : in vivo studies of their roles in tumorigenesis and development

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Progression through the G1, S, G2 and M phases of the cell cycle is controlled by cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks) and cyclins. These proteins form active Cdk:cyclin complexes that phosphorylate specific substrates. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Interaction of the Adenovirus E1B-55K Protein with a Histone Deacetylase Complex: Its Importance in Regulation of P53 Protein Functions

    Författare :Tanel Punga; Göran Akusjärvi; Klas G. Wiman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; adenovirus; E1B-55K; p53; histone acetylation; Sin3; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The human tumour suppressor protein p53 is an effective inhibitor of cell growth, by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. However, p53-induced cell growth inhibition can be detrimental for virus multiplication. Therefore, viruses encode for proteins, which can interfere with the functions of the p53 protein. LÄS MER
