1. Calcium Phosphate Based Biomaterials for Bone Augmentation
Sammanfattning : Basic (apatite-based) calcium phosphate cements (CPCs), and acidic (brushite and monetite-based) CPCs are used as bone replacement materials because of their bioactivity, mouldability and ability to harden in place. However, their application is limited by their inherent brittleness and difficulties related to their handling. LÄS MER
2. Integration of metallic source/drain contacts in MOSFET technology
Sammanfattning : The continuous and aggressive downscaling of conventional CMOS devices has been driving the vast growth of ICs over the last few decades. As the CMOS downscaling approaches the fundamental limits, novel device architectures such as metallic source/drain Schottky barrier MOSFET (SB-MOSFET) and SB-FinFET are probably needed to further push the ultimate downscaling. 3. A generalized quantum chemical approach for nano- and bio-electronics
Sammanfattning : A generalized quantum chemical approach for electron transport in molecular devices is developed. It allows to treat the devices where the metal electrodes and the molecule are either chemically or physically bonded on equal footing. LÄS MER
4. A Quantum Chemical View of Molecular and Nano-Electronics
Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents a generalized quantum chemical approach for electron transport in molecular electronic devices based on Green's function scattering theory. It allows to describe both elastic and inelastic electron transport processes at first principles levels of theory, and to treat devices with metal electrodes either chemically or physically bonded to the molecules on equal footing. 5. The Taizhou Movement : Being Mindful in Sixteenth Century China
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to define and analyze the religious ideas, praxis and organizations of the Taizhou movement using the earliest sources from the Ming dynasty. The Taizhou movement originated with a salt merchant named Wang Gen (1483–1541), who became a disciple of the well-known Neo-Confucian philosopher Wang Yangming (1472–1529). LÄS MER
