1. On the immunopathogenesis of HIV infection
Sammanfattning : CD8+ T-cell dependent clearance of microbial infections by perforin mediated killing of infected cells is a central component in the combat against viral infections. In HIV-1 infected individuals the incidence of virus infected cells in lymphoid tissue, which is the major site for virus production, does not drop, but instead slowly increases as the disease progresses. 2. The GABAA Receptor as Target for Novel Heterocyclic Compounds
Sammanfattning : Ligands for the benzodiazepine-binding site of the GABAA receptor can belong to structurally diverse classes of compounds including, in spite of the name of the binding site, many non-benzodiazepine structures. The GABAA receptor is a ligand-gated ion channel assembled of five subunits from eight different classes with multiple isoforms. LÄS MER
3. The Untimely-Image : On Contours of the New in Political Film-Thinking
Sammanfattning : This study creates and develops a concept called the untimely-image including two sub-concepts called contours of the new and the untimely-site. The untimely-image concerns the clearing for and the expression of figures of “potential” in thought in the form of moving-images. LÄS MER
4. Structure and Dynamics of Hydrated Biopolymers
Sammanfattning : Hydrated polysaccharide systems primarily using xylans along with mutans and alternans were studied using long atomistic simulations over a few microseconds to analyse structure-function relationships and nanoscale interactions with moisture. The influence of various structural and chemical factors such as alignment, nature of glycosidic linkage, effect of moisture / chemical substitutions was explored with a focus on structure-dynamics correlations to aid in the effective functionalisation of biomaterials for the development of a green, circular bioeconomy. 5. Synthesis and application of β-configured [18/19F]FDGs : Novel prosthetic CuAAC click chemistry fluoroglycosylation tools for amyloid PET imaging and cancer theranostics
Sammanfattning : Positron emission tomography (PET) is a non-invasive imaging method that renders three-dimensional images of tissue that selectively has taken up a radiolabelled organic compound, referred to as a radiotracer. This excellent technique provides clinicians with a tool to monitor disease progression and to evaluate how the patient respond to treatment. LÄS MER
