  1. 1. Fermentative hydrogen and methane productions using membrane bioreactors

    Författare :Julius Akinbomi; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Encapsulation; Inhibition; hydrodynamics; hydrogen; methane; fruit flavour; Membrane bioreactor; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : The role of energy as a stimulant for economic growth and environmental sustainabilityof any nation has made the focus on green fuels, including fermentative hydrogen (bioH2) andmethane (bioCH4), to be a priority for the World’s policy makers. Nigeria, as the most populousAfrican country, with worsening energy crisis, can benefit from the introduction of the bioH2 andbioCH4 technologies into the country’s energy mix, since such technologies have the potential ofgenerating energy from organic wastes such as fruit waste. 2. 2. Hydrogen in nano-sized metals : Diffusion and hysteresis effects

    Författare :Wen Huang; Björgvin Hjörvarsson; Max Wolff; Gavin Walker; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Hydrogen; diffusion; hysteresis; optical technique; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Metal hydrides can be used as hydrogen storage materials for fuel cells and batteries, and as sensors for detecting hydrogen gas. The use of metal hydrides for hydrogen storage can be hindered by poor kinetics and low capacity. Moreover, poor sensitivity, long recovery and response time, limit the applications of metal hydrides as hydrogen sensors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Polymer-Nanoparticle Hybrid Materials for Plasmonic Hydrogen Detection

    Författare :Iwan Darmadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydrogen; nanofabrication; hybrid material; nanocomposite; polymer; alloy; sensor; nanoplasmonic; palladium;

    Sammanfattning : Plasmonic metal nanoparticles and polymer materials have independently undergone rapid development during the last two decades. More recently, it has been realized that combining these two systems in a hybrid or nanocomposite material comprised of plasmonically active metal nanoparticles dispersed in a polymer matrix leads to systems that exhibit fascinating properties, and some first attempts had been made to exploit them for optical spectroscopy, solar cells or even pure art. 4. 4. Production of Hydrogen for Oil Refining by Thermal Gasification of Biomass: Process Design, Integration and Evaluation

    Författare :Jean-Florian Brau; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrogen; Modeling; Refining; Biomass Gasification; Energy Systems; Process Integration;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrogen is an important part of crude oil refining operations since it is required in several units for the desulphurization and upgrading of various oil fractions. At present, most of the refineries meet their hydrogen demand through methane steam reforming, a refinery unit that can represent up to 25% of the plant’s fossil CO2 emissions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Optimisation and modelling of aroma recovery by pervaporation

    Författare :Jenny Olsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Food and drink technology; optimisation; mass transfer; modelling; pervaporation; aroma recovery; Livsmedelsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : During production of concentrated fruit juices, both physical and chemical losses of aroma compounds occur due to heat treatment such as pasteurisation and evaporation. This leads to an inferior quality of the final product. LÄS MER
