    Sammanfattning : This study is based on an analysis of more than 2,300 court cases concerning acts of bestiality and same-sex sexuality in rural and urban Sweden 1880-1950. Other written sources are forensic psychi-atric statements, mental hospital records, material from the Swedish Sex Reform movement, news-papers and scientific journals, and minutes of the Swedish Parliament and its subcommittees.     Sammanfattning : This thesis demonstrates and problematizes the work of the heteronormative surrounding the death of gay-identified men in Sweden in the 1980s. It does so by using the funeral as a lens through which to interrogate what happens when heteronormative institutions and cultural norms are confronted by gay deaths doubly stigmatised by the 'wrong' sexuality and Aids.
