    Sammanfattning : By using auditory distraction as a tool, the main focus of the present thesis is to investigate the role of memory systems in human adaptation processes towards changes in the built environment. Report I and Report II focus on the question of whether memory for regularities in the auditory environment is used to form predictions and expectations of future sound events, and if violations of these expectations capture attention.     Sammanfattning : Cognitive dysfunction is considered a core deficit of schizophrenia, which currently lacks effective pharmacological treatment. In order to identify novel and more effective drug treatments, translational experimental animal models of cognitive dysfunction are required. Among its religious minorities exist various strands of charismatic Christianity, some of which originate from the Pentecostal revival of the early 20th century and some of which belong to more recent movements.
