    Författare :Mats Eriksson; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear medicine; radiobiology; Nukleärmedicin; radiobiologi; Nuclear engineering and technology; Kärnteknik; realtime digital image systems; SEM; ICP-MS; alpha spectrometry; gamma spectrometry; heterogeneous activity concentration; hot particle; separation technique; isotopic ratio; inventory; source term; fallout; americium; uranium; plutonium; radionuclide; Bylot Sound; Greenland; Thule; environmental radioactivity; nuclear accident;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns a nuclear accident that occurred in the Thule (Pituffik) area, NW Greenland in 1968, called the Thule accident. Results are based on different analytical techniques, i.e. gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry, ICP-MS, SEM with EDX and different sediment models, i. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evolution and taxonomy of Cambrian arthropods from Greenland and Sweden

    Författare :Martin Stein; John S. Peel; Dieter Waloszek; David J. Siveter; Reinhardt M. Kristensen; David L. Bruton; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cambrian; Arthropods; Trilobites; Evolution; Greenland; Sweden; Historical geology and palaeontology; Historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : Arthropods have a rich fossil record spanning the Phanerozoic. Biomineralized forms such as the extinct trilobites are particularly common and are proven index fossils for biostratigraphy. Forms with an unmineralized cuticle are more rare, preserved only in so called konservat lagerstätten. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Unlocking the hidden diversity of organic-walled microfossils from the early Cambrian of North Greenland

    Författare :Elise Wallet; Sebastian Willman; Ben Slater; Graham Budd; Charles H. Wellman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cambrian; acritarchs; organic-walled microfossils; small carbonaceous fossils; Greenland; diversity; disparity; taxonomy; taphonomy; Crustacea; plankton; Historical Geology and Paleontology; Historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : The early Cambrian Buen Formation of North Greenland is celebrated for hosting one of the oldest Cambrian Burgess Shale-type deposits known to date – the Sirius Passet Lagerstätte. Further south in a shallower shelf facies belt, the Buen Formation yielded organic-walled microfossils (OWMs) that were originally described with a focus on acritarchs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Petermann Glacier Ice Shelf in a warming world : Insights from 3-D numerical modelling of ice shelf-ocean interactions at Petermann Fjord, Northwest Greenland

    Författare :Abhay Prakash; Nina Kirchner; Qiong Zhang; Riko Noormets; Hans Burchard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; climate change; Greenland; ice shelf-ocean interactions; numerical ocean modelling; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Sammanfattning : The Greenland Ice Sheet (GrIS) is currently the largest contributor to global mean sea level rise, and contemporary mass loss rates are likely lower bounds for the rates to be observed in decades to come. At present, marine outlet glaciers along the northern GrIS margin, with an ice volume estimated at 400 cm mean global sea level rise equivalent, are still largely buttressed by ice shelves. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mobilitet och estetik. Nuukfjorden på Grönlands västkust som människornas livsvärld för 4000 år sedan. : Mobility and Aesthetics. The Nuuk Fjord on the west coast of Greenland as a human life-world 4000 years ago

    Författare :Maria Hinnerson-Berglund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Palaeoeskimo; life-world; Nuuk Fjord; Greenland; mobility; aesthetics; style; everyday dialectics.;

    Sammanfattning : The point must be to experience things throughout one’s life in all their glory and wonder (Poul Henningsen) The dissertation deals with newly excavated archaeological finds from the Palaeoeskimos who lived around the Nuuk Fjord on the west coast of Greenland about 4000 years ago. The purpose of the study is to present as full a picture a possible of the whole life-world that was theirs. LÄS MER
