  1. 1. The gamma-tubulin meshwork as a therapeutic target

    Författare :Lisa Lindström; Malmö Molekylär patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gamma-tubulin; retinoblastoma; nuclear formation; meshwork; mitochondria; homeostasis;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a heterogeneous disease and treatment regime is dependent on type and location of the tumor. Several of the commonly used chemotherapeutics target the functions of the microtubules. One of the major problems with these drugs is the adverse effects associated with their use. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The role of gamma-tubulin in cell division and cancer

    Författare :Greta Eklund; Malmö Molekylär patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Although cancer is a heterogeneous disease, a common theme in tumor cells is the deregulation of cell division, which renders tumor progression independent of otherwise necessary internal or external growth cues. This may provide cancer cells with the ability to divide indefinitely, posing a threat to the rest of the organism. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of the inner nuclear membrane protein Samp1, during interphase and mitosis

    Författare :Veronica J. Larsson; Einar Hallberg; Katharine S. Ullman; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Samp1; LINC complex; nuclear lamina; MCLIP; nuclear envelope; spindle assembly; spindle stability; k-fiber; gamma tubulin; Aurora B; Haus6; Augmin; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Sammanfattning : The nucleus, a hallmark in eukaryotic cells, contains the genome separating it from molecules in the cytoplasm. The nucleus is surrounded by a nuclear envelope consisting of two concentric membranes, the outer nuclear membrane and the inner nuclear membrane, the nuclear lamina and nuclear pore complexes. 4. 4. Tumor Suppressor function of the deubiquitinating enzyme BAP1 and its substrate gamma-tubulin In regulation of cell cycle and genome stability

    Författare :Reihaneh Zarrizi; Avdelningen för translationell cancerforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : In normal cells, the cell cycle is controlled by a complex series of signalling pathways by which a cell grows, replicates its DNA and divides. The critical task of the cell cycle is to ensure that DNA is faithfully replicated and that identical chromosomal copies are distributed equally to two daughter cells during mitosis with the help of the mitotic spindle. 5. 5. Differential expression pattern of CEACAM1 isoforms in polarized epithelial cells : it's regulation and some functional consequences

    Författare :Ulla Sundberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :CEACAM1; adhesion; lateral localization; adherens junctions; desmosomes; primary cilia;

    Sammanfattning : The cell adhesion molecule CEACAM1 is expressed in epithelia, small vessel endothelia and leukocytes as two major, co-expressed isoforms, CEACAM1-L and CEACAM1-S, which differ in their cytoplasmic domains. CEACAM1 has been found both in cell-cell contact areas and on apical surfaces of polarized epithelial cells. LÄS MER
