  1. 6. Fetal Movements in late Pregnancy : Categorization, Self-assessment, and Prenatal Attachment in relation to women’s experiences

    Författare :Mari-Cristin Malm; Helena Lindgren; Ingela Rådestad; Christine Rubertsson; Siw Alehagen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fetal movements; pregnancy; prenatal attachment; self-assessment; stillbirth; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Hälsa och välfärd;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: To explore how pregnant women experience fetal movements in late pregnancy. Specific aims were:  to study women’s experiences during the time prior to receiving news that their unborn baby had died in utero (I), to investigate women’s descriptions of fetal movements (II), investigate the association between the magnitude of fetal movements and level of prenatal attachment (III), and to study women’s experiences using two different self-assessment methods (IV). 2. 7. Engineering of Human Fetal Hemoglobin

    Författare :Karin Kettisen; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fetal hemoglobin; protein engineering; recombinant protein production; protein purification; chromatography; oxygen carrier; redox reactions; net surface charge; DNA cleavage;

    Sammanfattning : In blood, the oxygen-transporting protein hemoglobin (Hb) governs the oxygenation of cells and tissues. Naturally, this protein has claimed a place in the center of the research field of artificial oxygen therapeutics. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : We studied the prenatal detection rate of various malformations during a study period of 16 years in a population in southern Sweden consisting of 141 240 deliveries. The overall detection rate was 28.4% and the false positive diagnoses were very few. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The Influence of Intrauterine Environment on Cardiovascular Development During Fetal Life

    Författare :Helena Gardiner; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reproduktion; sexualitet; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; Obstetrics; gynaecology; arterial distensibility; twin-twin transfusion; Growth-restriction; Fetal; Cardiovascular Development; andrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Fetal growth restriction has been linked to later cardiovascular disease, possibly through reduced arterial distensibility in response to a suboptimal intrauterine environment. This thesis sought firstly to examine the relationship between fetal growth and haemodynamics and their effect on later cardiovascular function and secondly to examine the effects of differential volume loading on arterial distensibility in genetically identical monochorionic twins with twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) and to explore the effect that early treatment has on vascular development.
