  1. 1. Fetal Movements in late Pregnancy : Categorization, Self-assessment, and Prenatal Attachment in relation to women’s experiences

    Författare :Mari-Cristin Malm; Helena Lindgren; Ingela Rådestad; Christine Rubertsson; Siw Alehagen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fetal movements; pregnancy; prenatal attachment; self-assessment; stillbirth; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Hälsa och välfärd;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: To explore how pregnant women experience fetal movements in late pregnancy. Specific aims were:  to study women’s experiences during the time prior to receiving news that their unborn baby had died in utero (I), to investigate women’s descriptions of fetal movements (II), investigate the association between the magnitude of fetal movements and level of prenatal attachment (III), and to study women’s experiences using two different self-assessment methods (IV). 2. 2. Awareness of fetal movements and pregnancy outcomes

    Författare :Anna Akselsson; Ingela Rådestad; Helena Lindgren; Susanne Georgsson; Anna Dencker; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; Sophiahemmet Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Fetal movements are one, among others, of the measurable factors indicating wellbeing of the fetus. Decreased fetal movements are associated with intrauterine growth restriction and stillbirth. Women with experience of stillbirth have often noticed decreased and weaker fetal movements preceding the intrauterine death. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Pregnancies with decreased fetal movements : risk factors and strategies for mitigation of poor neonatal outcomes

    Författare :Irene Sterpu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background and aims: The most feared complication of pregnancy is stillbirth. Globally there are 2.6 million stillbirths annually with more than 7000 deaths a day. Pregnancies with reduced fetal movements have a higher risk of stillbirth and growth restriction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Prenatal Tisse Velocity Imaging of the Heart : A new approach to assess fetal myocardial function

    Författare :Nina Elmstedt; Lars-Åke Brodin; Britta Lind; Karel Marsal; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis has been to evaluate color‐coded tissue velocity imaging (TVI) as an approach to developing a new, non‐invasive assessment method for fetal myocardial function. Such a method could hypothetically give early indications of fetal pathology, as myocardial dysfunction is often the consequence when the circulation tries to adapt to deteriorating situations.
