  1. 1. Decision making in innovation : understanding selection and prioritizaiton of development projects

    Författare :Ernesto Gutiérrez; Margareta Norell Bergendahl; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :decision making; innovation; product development; project selection; project portfolio management; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis has its origin in empirical evidence. Some Swedish companies claimed that despite having plenty of proposals for developing new products, they experienced problems when choosing from all those alternatives. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Supporting Dynamic Decision Making in Naval Search and Evasion Tasks

    Författare :Christofer Waldenström; Love Ekenberg; Mats Danielson; Peter Thunholm; Neville Stanton; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Decision support; visualization; dynamic decision-making; naval warfare; expanding search area; field of safe travel; search task; evasion task; ecological interface; anti-submarine warfare; constraints; flaming datum; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap; Ledningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates a decision aid to support tasks where there is an initial sighting of an object and then the decision maker has to guide some vehicles, either to reestablish contact with the lost object or to stay clear of it. As such, the tasks are analogous to naval search and evasion tasks. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Opinion Dynamic Models of Decision-Making in Traffic

    Författare :Carl-Johan Heiker; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; decision-making; Autonomous vehicles; continuous-time Markov chains; human road users; model predictive control; opinion dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Autonomous vehicles (AVs) have the potential to improve both the efficiency and the safety of road traffic. Vehicles that can plan their routes, anticipate accidents and communicate open the door to transportation that is nearly free of human error. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On the relationship between psychometric intelligence and decision making in dynamic systems

    Författare :Georgios Rigas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Advanced progressive matrices; complexity continuum; complex problem solving; decision-making; dynamic systems; intelligence; intransparency; microworlds; task novelty; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The relationship between psychometric intelligence and performance in dynamic decision making systems (microworlds) was investigated. A theoretical analysis of the mental processes that underlie performance in intelligence tests and microworlds suggested that at least some weak positive correlations should be expected. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Strategies and maladaptive behaviours in complex dynamic decision making

    Författare :Anders Jansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Dynamic decision making; complex problem solving; mental models; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Research on dynamic decision making using so called microworlds has followed two differentapproaches: the German approach of "komplexes Problemlösen" where the central problem has beenseen as that of action control and the dynamic decision making approach, where the central problemhas been seen as that of task control, In this thesis, these approaches are combined in order to seehow people regulate their behaviour so that they can manage to control a complex, opaque anddynamic decision task. The general objective of the thesis is to see how people develop mentalmodels and formulate goals as a function of observability and action possibilities. LÄS MER
