21. Degradation of thermo-elastic properties in damaged composite laminates : a theoretical study
Sammanfattning : Fiber composites are today widely used in different load carrying structures. The main reason is their high stiffness and strength to weight ratio. Due to these specific properties they are frequently used in car, marine and space industry. LÄS MER
22. Multiscale Modelling of Reinforced Concrete Structures
Sammanfattning : Concrete cracks at relatively low tensile stresses; cracks open up for ingress of harmful substances, negatively affecting the durability of reinforced concrete structures. Crack widths are thus limited in the design codes, and accurate predictions are needed, especially for large reinforced concrete structures such as bridges or nuclear reactor containment buildings. 23. Structural Behaviour of Deteriorated Concrete Structures
Sammanfattning : A growing concern for better assessment of existing concrete structures has revealed a need for improved understanding of the structural effects of deterioration. The two most common causes of deterioration in concrete structures are freezing of the concrete and corrosion of the reinforcement. LÄS MER
24. Elastic Wave Propagation in Anisotropic Media. Application to Ultrasonic NDT
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is elastic wave propagation in anisotropic materials with application to ultrasonic nondestructive testing (NDT). The first part of the thesis is concerned with modeling of ultrasonic transducers and wave propagation in anisotropic materials in general. First, a scalar 2-D case is considered. LÄS MER
25. Steel fibre corrosion in cracks : durability of sprayed concrete
Sammanfattning : Steel fibre reinforced sprayed concrete is common practice for permanent linings in underground construction. Today there is a demand on "expected technical service life" of 120 years. Thin steel fibres could be expected to discontinue carrying load fast with a decrease of fibre diameter caused by corrosion, especially in cracks. LÄS MER
