  1. 1. Heterogeneous Degradation and Recyclability of PP Studied by Imaging Chemiluminescence

    Författare :Mikael Hamskog; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teknik; Technological sciences; recyclability; mapping; surface; heterogeneity; heterogeneous; evaporation; ageing; hamamatsu; russel; ICL; CL; Irganox 1010; Irganox 1076; oxidation; hydroperoxide; radical; carbonyl; luminescence; chemiluminescence; imaging chemiluminescence; recycling; stabilization; polypropylene; degradation;

    Sammanfattning : Oxidative degradation is a serious threat to long-term use and recyclability of polymers. Successful recycling of polymeric quality products requires characterization of the polymer material after reprocessing and use. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Long-term properties of polyethylene films : efficiency of a natural antioxidant

    Författare :Clara Strandberg; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Jukka Seppälä; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer Technology; alfa-tocopherol; Polyethylene PE ; Thermal aging; Infrared Spectroscopy FT-IR ; Chemiluminescence CL ; Solid-phase microextraction SPME ; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : There is a growing awareness of the risks of pollution in biological systems and one potential problem is the synthetic antioxidants, used for e.g. the stabilisation of polymeric materials. Natural antioxidants are an interesting alternative, if the high efficiency and thermal stability of the synthetic compounds can be reached. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Theoretical Studies of Ground and Excited State Reactivity

    Författare :Pooria Farahani; Marcus Lundberg; Hans Karlsson; Isabelle Navizet; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical Reactivity; Computational Chemistry; Dynamics; Ground and Excited States; Chemiluminescence; Atmospheric Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : To exemplify how theoretical chemistry can be applied to understand ground and excited state reactivity, four different chemical reactions have been modeled. The ground state chemical reactions are the simplest models in chemistry. To begin, a route to break down halomethanes through reactions with ground state cyano radical has been selected. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Molecular beam study of non-adiabatic electron transfer in the Cl2+Ksurf surface reaction

    Författare :Lars Hellberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; harpooning; electron transfer; Cl2; surface; exo-electrons; sticking; halogen; non-adiabatic; chemiluminescence;

    Sammanfattning : Halogen molecules impinging on alkali metal surfaces constitute model systems for studies of charge transfer, dissociation dynamics and non-adiabatic energy dissipation in molecule-surface reactions. This thesis reports emission of exo-electrons and photons from the surface as a result of strong non-adabaticity in the Cl2 gas on K$^{solid}$ reaction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Oxidation of stressed polymers as studied by chemiluminescence

    Författare :Karin Jacobson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Since the use of chemiluminescence (CL) is known to be avery sensitive technique for studying oxidation of polymers,its potential as a tool for studying the oxidation of stressedpolymers is thoroughly investigated in this thesis. A number ofearlier reports on stress induced chemiluminescence (SCL) showthat SCL has potential for elucidating polymer stressreactions. LÄS MER
