  1. 1. To grip and not to slip : sensorimotor mechanisms in reactive control of grasp stability

    Författare :Charlotte Häger Ross; Roland S. Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; human; hand; precision grip; grasp force; friction; cutaneous mechanoreceptors; sensorimotor integration; motor control;

    Sammanfattning : The reactive control of fingertip forces maintaining grasp stability was examined in man during a prehensile task. Blindfolded subjects used the precision grip between the tips of index finger and thumb to restrain an object that was subjected to unpredictable load forces. These were delivered tangential to the parallel grip surfaces of the object. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Movement Control after Stroke : Studies on Sit-to-walk and on the Relations between Clinical and Laboratory Measures

    Författare :Gunilla Elmgren Frykberg; Jörgen Borg; Helga Hirschfeld; Charlotte Häger-Ross; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stroke; sit-to-walk; movement analysis; force analysis; postural control; Berg Balance Scale; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi; Rehabilitation Medicine; Rehabiliteringsmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The principal aims of this research were 1) to extend existing knowledge of the everyday sit-to-walk (STW) transfer in subjects with stroke and in matched controls by exploring temporal, kinematic, and kinetic aspects, and 2) to investigate the relations between some clinical and laboratory measures of postural control and locomotion in stroke rehabilitation and research. Methods: Ten community-living subjects with stroke (mean age 59 years) and ten matched controls were enrolled in the STW studies (Studies I, II, and IV). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sensorimotor function in chronic neck pain : objective assessments and a novel method for neck coordination exercise

    Författare :Ulrik Röijezon; Mats Djupsjöbacka; Martin Björklund; Charlotte Häger-Ross; Dario Liebermann; Mikael Karlberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neck pain; Whiplash; Sensorimotor; Motor Control; Motor Learning; Neck Coordination Exercise; Postural Control; Cervical kinematics; Reliability.; Community medicine; Samhällsmedicin; rehabiliteringsmedicin; Rehabilitation Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic neck pain is a widespread problem that causes individual suffering as well as large costs for the society. The knowledge about the pathophysiology is poor and therefore specific diagnosis and causal treatment are rare. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Motor control of the knee : kinematic and EMG studies of healthy individuals and people with patellofemoral pain

    Författare :Ann-Katrin Stensdotter; Charlotte Häger-Ross; Gunnevi Sundelin; Gertjan Ettema; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kinematics; Kinetic chain tasks; Knee; Motor Control; Muscle activity; Patellofemoral pain; Unpredictable perturbations; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is believed to be associated with deficits in coordination between the different heads of the quadriceps muscle; however, considerable debate exists in the literature regarding the presence of such a deficit. Discrepancies between studies may be explained by differences in experimental tasks, such as whether the task is performed with open (OKC) or closed kinetic chain (CKC), or whether the activity is voluntary or triggered. 5. 5. Hand function in children and in persons with neurological disorders : aspects of movement control and evaluation of measurements

    Författare :Elisabeth Svensson; Charlotte Häger-Ross; Birgitta Lindmark; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cerebellum; disability; hand function; hereditary motor and sensory neuropathies; latency; motor control; reactive control; reproducibility; sensation; strength; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Hand function is of great importance in the many daily activities that require well-coordinated hand and arm movements. Measurement of hand function is an essential element in the rehabilitation process, in order to facilitate medical diagnosis and determine developmental stages, functional levels, and the efficacy of treatment interventions.
