1. Cervical Radiculopathy : Studies on Pain Analysis and Treatment
Sammanfattning : Background: Knowledge about how to interpret pain-analyzing tools such as the pain drawing test and the visual analog scale (VAS) in cervical spine patients are sparse; hence, they have never been validated for this subgroup of patients. The method of artificial disc replacement (ADR) has been developed as an alternative treatment to fusion surgery after decompression for cervical degenerative disc disease (DDD) with radiculopathy. 2. Cervical Spine Injuries - Numerical Analyses and Statistical Survey
Sammanfattning : Injuries to the neck, or cervical region, are very importantsince there is a potential risk of damage to the spinal cord.Any neck injury can have devastating if not life threateningconsequences. LÄS MER
3. Functional analysis of the cervical spine : Reliability, reference data and outcome after anterior cervical decompression and fusion
Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis was to investigate the reliability of the test procedure, and to obtain reference values for active range of motion (AROM) of the neck, neck-, and hand strength. Another aim was to perform a broad assessment of outcome in patients with cervical disc disease operated on by anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) and to identify predictive factors for a good outcome. 4. Cervical influence on dizziness and orientation
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the work was to examine the influence of cervical biomechanical conditions on movement performance, to study musculoskeletal findings accompanying possible cervicogenic dizziness and to evaluate the influence of cervical proprioception on head orientation. Two devices, measuring cervical range of motion, were compared: Myrin, an inclinometer/compass method and Zebris®, a 3-dimensional ultrasound movement analyser. LÄS MER
5. Biomechanical and Clinical Aspects on Fixation Techniques in the Cervical Spine
Sammanfattning : The present work is analyzing the general biomechanical aspects of fixation techniques in the upper and lower cervical spine along with clinical implications. The in vitro biomechanical properties of five different posterior atlanto-axial fixation techniques are compared. LÄS MER
