  1. 1. Cyclin A and cyclin E as prognostic factors in early breast cancer

    Författare :Cecilia Ahlin; Marie-Louise Fjällskog; Carl Blomqvist; Göran Landberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Oncology; breast cancer; chemotherapy; cyclin A; cyclin E; aberrant cyclin E; Ki-67; TMA; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. Due to early detection and the use of screening programs approximately 60% of all new cases lack lymph node involvement. Today, a substantial proportion of these women will be offered adjuvant systemic chemotherapy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Prognostic Impact of Proliferation Markers in Breast Cancer with Emphasis on Cyclin B1 and PPH3

    Författare :Anthoula Koliadi; Marie-Louise Fjällskog; Thomas Hatschek; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; proliferation; cyclin B1; Phosphorylated Histone 3; cyclin A; breast cancer; node negative; prognostic factor; luminal; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the prognostic role of the proliferation markers cyclin B1 and Phosphorylated Histone 3 (PPH3) in breast cancer (BC).In paper I we used an experimental study design, we compared women dying early from their BC with women free from relapse more than eight years after initial diagnosis. 3. 3. Cyclin E overexpression and associated events in human breast cancer

    Författare :Maria Stighall; Malmö Patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; patologisk anatomi; Patologi allmän ; pathological anatomy; General pathology; tumour growth pattern; invasion; proliferation; ID2; cyclin E; pRb; cell cycle; breast cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Unrestrained proliferation is a hallmark of cancer and genetic defects within G1/S-phase regulation and the pRb pathway occur frequently. Proliferation control can be circumvented either by excess cyclin D1 or cyclin E, alterations that can define two alternative tumour biologic pathways in breast cancer. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cyclin A1 Expression and Regulation in Hematopoietic and Leukemic Cells

    Författare :Jenny Ekberg; Malmö Patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancer; General pathology; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Cytology; AML; cyclin A1; apoptosis; cell cycle regulation;

    Sammanfattning : Increased expression of the cell cycle regulatory protein cyclin A1 has previously been detected in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and targeted overexpression of cyclin A1 in a transgenic mouse model initiated AML. The aim of this thesis was to further study the expression and regulation of cyclin A1 in hematopoietic cells. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Cell cycle perspectives on breast cancer cell behaviour

    Författare :Pontus Berglund; Malmö Experimentell patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; invasion; breast cancer; migration; proliferation; cyclin D1; cyclin E;

    Sammanfattning : Uncontrolled proliferation and the capacity to infiltrate surrounding tissues are two important characteristics of aggressive tumour cells. Previous observations in both colorectal cancer and basal cell carcinoma indicated that infiltrative tumour cell behaviour might be counteracted by a high proliferative activity, suggesting a coordination of these two activities at the cellular level.
