6. Molecular Hole Punching : Impulse Driven Reactions in Molecules and Molecular Clusters
Sammanfattning : When molecules are excited by photons or energetic particles, they will cool through the emission of photons, electrons, or by fragmenting. Such processes are often thermal as they occur after the excitation energy has been redistributed across all degrees-of-freedom in the system. LÄS MER
7. Meson production in pd collisions
Sammanfattning : Meson production in proton-deuteron collisions has been studied using the WASA detector facility at the CELSIUS storage ring in Uppsala. Data were obtained at two different beam energies, 1360 MeV and 1450 MeV, slightly above threshold for η and ω mesons. LÄS MER
8. A study of micro-particles in the dust and melt at different stages of iron and steelmaking
Sammanfattning : The dust particles generated due to mechanical wear of iron ore pellets and clusters formed in molten stainless steel alloyed with rare earth metals (REM) are considered in this study. Firstly, the influence of the characteristics of iron ore pellets, applied load on a pellet bed and partial reduction of the pellets on the size distribution of the generated dust was investigated. 9. Dynamics of particles in fluids: effects of correlations and interactions
Sammanfattning : Particles suspended in turbulent fluid flows are common in Nature and in technological applications. In some cases, the relative dynamics of spherical particles may be of interest. One example is small rain droplets in turbulent clouds. The dynamics of nearby droplets is correlated because they experience a correlated airflow. LÄS MER
10. Probing Electron Collisions in Nanostructures
Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the role of interaction between charged particles for transport and optical properties in nanostructures. Simulations are provided for a quantitative description of the system dynamics probed by either current spectroscopy or light absorption. LÄS MER
