1. Theoretical Study of Vibronic Spectra of Molecule Systems Generated by Photo- and Electronic Excitations
Sammanfattning : Spectra represent fingerprints of molecules, which contain unique information about their properties. Through analyzing the spectral data, one can reveal the molecules' energy level alignments, identify their species and geometric structures, and explore relevant chemical processes and microscopic mechanisms. 2. Development of Methods in CE, CE-MS and MS/MS : Applications in Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Forensic sciences
Sammanfattning : Capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry has been used successfully for the analysis of a wide range of analytes such as chiral local anaesthetics, sulphonated reactive dyes and endogenous neurotransmitters and neuropeptides. The partial filling technique was used in CE-MS for chiral separation of bupivacaine and ropivacaine using the non-volatile selector β-cyclodextrin. 3. New Techniques for Chiral Separations
Sammanfattning : Gas chromatography (GC) has been utilized for the study of enantiomer resolution of the atropisomers of PCBs, o,p´-DDD and o,p´-DDT. Different substituents and concentrations of cyclodextrin, capillary dimensions and type of stationary phase films have been investigated to achieve the resolution of as many of the atropisomers on one column as possible. 4. On the reliability of methods for the speciation of mercury based on chromatographic separation coupled to atomic spectrometric detection
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the reliability of methods for the speciation of mercury in environmental and biological samples. Problems with speciation methods that couple chromatography to atomic spectrometric detection and how to overcome the problems are discussed. LÄS MER
5. Improved Techniques for Protein Analysis Focusing on Membrane Proteins and Hydrophobic Peptides
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the vital cell functions performed by integral membrane proteins (IMPs) are briefly discussed. Such proteins are under-represented in most protein studies due to the hydrophobic nature of IMPs, which seriously complicate their solubilization, sample handling, preparation, separation and analysis.
