  1. 1. Human Beta-microseminoprotein expression, with special reference to gastric mucosa, atrophic corpus gastritis and gastric carcinoids

    Författare :Håkan Weiber; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gastric carcinoids; atrophic corpus gastritis; stomach; in situ hybridization; immunohistochemistry; radioimmunoassay; chromogranin A; gastrin; Beta-microseminoprotein; mucin; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; Gastro-enterology; Gastroenterologi;

    Sammanfattning : Human Beta-microseminoprotein is a 94 amino acid protein with 10 cysteins present in seminal plasma and on many mucosal surfaces in the body. The function of the protein is unknown. The purpose of this investigation was to study the distribution of Beta-microseminoprotein in the human body, especially in the stomach. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Structure, Evolution, and Expression of Proteins in the Male Reproductive Tract. Studies on Semenogelins, Beta-Microseminoprotein, and PC3-Secreted Microprotein

    Författare :Camilla Valtonen-André; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PC3-secreted microprotein; Clinical chemistry; Klinisk kemi; Semenogelin; Beta-microseminoprotein;

    Sammanfattning : Human semen has several important constituents, including the prostate secreted proteins beta-microseminoprotein (MSP), prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP), and the seminal-vesicle-derived coagulum proteins semenogelin I (SEMG1) and semenogelin II (SEMG2). The research underlying this thesis explored the evolution, expression and structure of seminal plasma proteins to provide further knowledge in the area of reproduction, particularly regarding MSP and the semenogelins. 3. 3. Antimicrobial activity of human seminal plasma and seminal plasma proteins

    Författare :Anneli Edström; Infektionsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; semenogelin; antibacterial peptides; antifungal peptides; seminal plasma; antimicrobial peptides; vaginal pH; beta-microseminoprotein; peptides;

    Sammanfattning : Seminal plasma is semen without the spermatozoa. Human seminal plasma is a complex mixture of secretions from the sex accessory glands, mainly the seminal vesicles and the prostate. Seminal plasma has high protein content and it also contains ions, sugars and low molecular weight components. LÄS MER

  4. 4. NMR STUDIES ON STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS OF TWO-DOMAIN PROTEINS

    Författare :Houman Ghasriani; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Physical chemistry; Molekylär biofysik; CRISP-3; NMR; 3D-structure; NMR relaxation; Molecular biophysics; Prostate cancer; EGF module; PSP94; Beta-microseminoprotein; Protein S;

    Sammanfattning : The general objective of the present thesis work was to examine 3-dimensional structure as well as the motional properties of two different types of two-domain proteins by solution-state NMR. One of the major tasks of this thesis work was to investigate the domain orientation of these molecules by employing residual dipolar couplings (RDC) which can be used as orientational restraints for increasing the accuracy of protein structures determined by NMR. 5. 5. Structure and organization of genes for the predominant seminal plasma proteins semenogelin I, semenogelin II and beta-microseminoprotein

    Författare :Magnus Ulvsbäck; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical chemistry; transglutaminase substrate; semen coagulation; prostate; seminal vesicles; seminal plasma; rhesus monkey; human; evolution; nucleic acid sequence; cDNA; gene; semenogelin; b-microseminoprotein; Klinisk kemi; Proteins; enzymology; Proteiner; enzymologi;

    Sammanfattning : In man, the predominant proteins in the seminal plasma include semenogelin I, semenogelin II and b-microseminoprotein (MSP). Semenogelin I and II are both synthesized in the seminal vesicles and are the backbone of the gel formed upon semen coagulation. MSP is synthesized in the prostate, but its role has not yet been defined. LÄS MER
