  3. 3. Diet and/or exercise treatment for weight loss in overweight and obese women after childbirth

    Författare :Fredrik Bertz; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; weight loss; overweight; postpartum; lactation; diet; exercise; behavior modification; DLW; body composition; RCT; Grounded Theory;

    Sammanfattning : AIM: The aim of the research presented in this thesis was to evaluate whether, dietary behavior modification treatment (D), or physical exercise behavior modification treatment (E), or the combination of both (DE), provide short and long-term weight loss compared to control (C) among overweight and obese lactating women, and if so how. METHODS: At 10-14 weeks postpartum, 68 lactating Swedish women with a pre-pregnancy body mass index of 25-35 were randomized to 12 weeks of treatment or control. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Identification and Characterization of Peptides and Proteins using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Magnus Palmblad; Ole Nørregaard Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Peptide; protein; peptide mass fingerprinting; identification; sequencing; protein structure; non-covalent interaction; modification; electrospray ionization; liquid chromatography; capillary electrophoresis; electron capture dissociation; Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry; cerebrospinal fluid; amyloid β-peptide; Alzheimer’s disease.; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Molecular Biotechnology; Molekylär bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Mass spectrometry has in recent years been established as the standard method for protein identification and characterization in proteomics with excellent intrinsic sensitivity and specificity. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance is the mass spectrometric technique that provides the highest resolving power and mass accuracy, increasing the amount of information that can be obtained from complex samples. 5. 5. Biochemical modification of wood components

    Författare :Peter Josefsson; Lars Wågberg; Mark Rutland; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The degradation of cellulose found in wood is one of the most important degradation processes for the carbon flux on earth. The degradation is performed by microorganisms that typically use enzymes. LÄS MER
