    Sammanfattning : Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy can be utilised for gas detection in biological and medical applications. The common approach is to analyse transmitted light according to the Beer-Lambertian law. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Light scattering and absorption in tissue - models and measurements

    Författare :Annika M K Enejder; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tissue optical properties; Light absorption; Fluorescence spectroscopy; Atomic and molecular physics; NIR spectroscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:1997:Enejder; Light scattering; Atom- och molekylärfysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this work a number of theoretical models, describing light propagation in matter, have been applied to and developed for the examination of tissue. The aim was to model the light scattering and absorption in tissue in order to improve the understanding of underlying mechanisms of laser-based diagnostics and treatment modalities utilised for cancer and cardiovascular diseases. 4. 4. Environmental Monitoring by Multi-Spectral Lidar Techniques

    Författare :Petter Weibring; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; non-linear optics; fluorescence spectroscopy; scattering; multi-spectral imaging; Atom- och molekylärfysik; atmospheric pollution; Atomic and molecular physics; laser; remote sensing; lidar; DIAL; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Weibring;

    Sammanfattning : Multi-spectral lidar (light detection and ranging) techniques have been developed and employed in various environmental studies, ranging from concentration mapping of volcanic emissions to fluorescence imaging of historical monuments. In both absorption measurements of gaseous species and fluorescence imaging of stones, multiple wavelength excitation and multiple wavelength detection have been applied. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Fysik; Physics; coherent sampling; optical sensor; light absorption; noninvasive measurement; diode laser; scattering of light; laser spectroscopy; fluorescence spectroscopy; remote sensing; Lidar; DIAL;

    Sammanfattning : Laser spectroscopy for both large and small spatial scales has been developed and used in various applications ranging from remote monitoring of atmospheric mercury in Spain to investigation of oxygen contents in wood, human sinuses, fruit, and pharmaceutical solids. Historically, the lidar group in Lund has performed many differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements with a mobile lidar system that was first described in 1987. LÄS MER
