  1. 1. Databases for antibody-based proteomics

    Författare :Erik Björling; Mathias Uhlén; Alvis Brazma; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; proteomics; antibodies; database; biomarker; website; Bioengineering; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Humans are believed to have ~20,500 protein-coding genes andmuch effort has over the last years been put into the characterizationand localization of the encoded proteins in order to understand theirfunctions. One such effort is the Human Proteome Resource (HPR)project, started in Sweden 2003 with the aim to generate specificantibodies to each human protein and to use those antibodies toanalyze the human proteome by screening human tissues and cells. 2. 2. Antibody-based Cancer Immunotherapy : Personalization, response prediction and safety considerations

    Författare :Mohamed Eltahir; Sara Mangsbo; Patrick Micke; Gustav Ullenhag; Marit Inderberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Antibody-based therapeutics have remarkably improved the field of immuno-oncology. Multiple monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are approved for clinical use, and numerous antibodies are under clinical development. The scope of this thesis is to study the personalization of antibody-based immunotherapeutics and tools to predict their efficacy and safety. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Selection of antigens for antibody-based proteomics

    Författare :Lisa Berglund; Mathias Uhlén; Sören Brunak; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; epitope; antigen; antibody; affinity; protein; proteome; proteomics; bioinformatics; prediction; primer design; sequence similarity; Bioengineering; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The human genome is predicted to contain ~20,500 protein-coding genes. The encoded proteins are the key players in the body, but the functions and localizations of most proteins are still unknown. LÄS MER

    Författare :Ulrika Qundos; Jochen M. Schwenk; Peter Nilsson; Mathias Uhlén; Ulrike Korf; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; protein profiling; plasma; antibody; affinity proteomics; biomark- ers; multiplex; assay development;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is about protein profiling in serum and plasma using antibody suspension bead arrays for the analysis of biobanked samples and in the context of prostate cancer biomarker discovery. The influence of sample preparation methods on antibody based protein profiles were investigated (Papers I-III) and a prostate cancer candidate biomarker identified and verified (Papers III-V). 5. 5. Antibody-based Profiling of Expression Patterns using Cell and Tissue Microarrays

    Författare :Sara Strömberg; Fredrik Ponten; Joakim Lundeberg; Anna Asplund; Stephen Hewitt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pathology; antibody-based proteomics; tissue microarray; cell line; immunohistochemistry; melanocytes; image analysis; biomarker; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, methods to study gene and protein expression in cells and tissues were developed and utilized in combination with protein-specific antibodies, with the overall objective to attain greater understanding of protein function.To analyze protein expression in in vitro cultured cell lines, a cell microarray (CMA) was developed, facilitating antibody-based protein profiling of cell lines using immunohistochemistry (IHC).
