2. Human response to wind turbine noise : perception, annoyance and moderating factors
Sammanfattning : Aims: The aims of this thesis were to describe and gain an understanding of how people who live in the vicinity of wind turbines are affected by wind turbine noise, and how individual, situational and visual factors, as well as sound properties, moderate the response. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in a flat, mainly rural area in Sweden, with the objective to estimate the prevalence of noise annoyance and to examine the dose-response relationship between A-weighted sound pressure levels (SPLs) and perception of and annoyance with wind turbine noise. 3. Annoyance, quality- and safety aspects of sound in truck cabins
Sammanfattning : For heavy vehicles the interior sound environment is still more or less just apassive result of the engineering of the different parts that make up the vehicle, although measures are taken to keep sound pressure level within legislatedboundaries. Additionally, the sound inside truck cabins is dominated by itslow frequency (LF) content, and is hence prone to impair task performance andreduce wakefulness as well as cause general annoyance and different adversehealth effects. 4. Low frequency noise during work. Effects on performance and annoyance
Sammanfattning : Aims. Low frequency noise (LFN) is defined as "a noise with a dominant frequency content of 20 to 200 Hz". Common sources of LFN in occupational environments are ventilation, heating and air-conditioning systems, computer network installations and compressors. LÄS MER
5. Road Traffic Noise - Factors modifying its relation to annoyance and cardiovascular disease
Sammanfattning : Traffic noise causes annoyance and sleep disturbance and has been linked with several other adverse effects on life quality and health, including increased risk of hypertension and myocardial infarction. Conservative estimates assume that at least one million healthy life years are lost every year from traffic related noise in the western part of Europe. LÄS MER
