  1. 1. Jordbrukspolitiska stödformer : en studie av SR-, A- och B-stödens lokala effekter 1961-1981

    Författare :Rolf S. Johnsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Swedish agriculture; structural rationalization; government support; government subsidy; special rationalization SR ; evaluation; agricultural policy;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study has been to analyse the effects of state subsidies within agriculture. The goal of these policies was to build up long-term sound and profitable farms by means of both general and selective support measures. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Lipids in seeds of oat (Avena spp.), a potential oil crop : content, quality, metabolism, and possibilities for improvement

    Författare :Svetlana Leonova; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : New oil crops with high yield and oil content are urgently needed. Oat is the only cereal that accumulates substantial amount of lipids in the endosperm. This gives it potential as an oil crop, which could address both nutritional and environmental concerns of modern society. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Process development for platform chemical production from agricultural and forestry residues

    Författare :David Nickel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biorefinery; pretreatment; lignocellulose; multi-feed SSCF; preadaptation; multi-scale variability analysis; platform chemicals; lactic acid; logging residues; mixed feedstocks; ethanol;

    Sammanfattning : As part of a bio-based economy, biorefineries are envisaged to sustainably produce platform chemicals via biochemical conversion of agricultural and forestry residues. However, supply risks, the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic biomass, and inhibitor formation during pretreatment impair the economic feasibility of such biorefineries. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modulation of the glycoalkaloid biosynthesis pathway in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) and development of CRISPR/Cas9 methodology for tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

    Författare :Ying Liu; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGAs) are toxic defence substances present in Solanum species, including the tomato and potato. Concerns about SGA toxicity have long been raised regarding table potato cultivars, and more recently regarding starch potato cultivars, where SGAs negatively affect the use of proteins and fibre from starch by-products. 5. 5. From Betterment to Bt maize : agricultural development and the introduction of genetically modified maize to South African smallholders

    Författare :Klara Fischer; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Agriculture has received renewed attention in poverty reduction efforts in Africa in recent years, and there are hopes that GM crops could have an important role in helping increase smallholder yields and reduce poverty. Drawing on critical discourse analysis (CDA) and livelihoods perspectives, this thesis examines the ideas governing the Massive Food Production Programme (MFPP), an agricultural development programme aiming to reduce poverty by raising agricultural production in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, and its local effects when implemented in smallholder communities.
