  1. 1. Exoenzyme S of Pseudomonas aeruginosa : cellular targets and interaction with 14-3-3

    Författare :Lubna Yasmin; Bengt Hallberg; Joan Olson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ExoS; ADP-ribosylation; 14-3-3 protein; Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Small GTPases; RAS; RAP; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen that is a serious problem for immuno-compromised patients. Toxins such as exoenzyme (Exo) S, ExoT, ExoY and ExoU are secreted and translocated from the bacteria into the eukaryotic cell via the bacterial encoded type III secretion system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The 14-3-3 protein family - Conserved structure, diverse functions

    Författare :Magnus Rosenquist; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; regulation; phosphorylation; plant; plasma membrane; fusicoccin; H ATPase; binding motifs; specificity; evolution; 14-3-3; isoforms; Plant biochemistry; Växtbiokemi;

    Sammanfattning : While once abstruse, 14-3-3 proteins are now well known as players in several cellular processes. These processes range from apoptosis and mitosis in mammals and yeast, to regulation of primary metabolism in plants. To date, 104 proteins have been shown to interact with 14-3-3s of which 85 are found in mammals and yeast, and 21 are found in plants. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Arabidopsis 14-3-3 family -target protein specificity and expression of isoforms

    Författare :Annika Arkell; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein-protein interaction; GUS; Arabidopsis; 14-3-3; H -ATPase; expression;

    Sammanfattning : 14-3-3 proteins comprise a family of highly conserved proteins. 14-3-3 proteins have been found in all organisms examined except for members of the prokaryotic kingdom. 14-3-3s are involved in numerous processes in the cell and they typically bind to phosphorylated motifs in other proteins and regulate their activities. 4. 4. The Arabidopsis 14-3-3 Family - Evolution, Expression, Localization, and Target Specificity

    Författare :Magnus Alsterfjord; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Växtbiokemi; Plant biochemistry; Biologi; Biology; Arabidopsis; 14-3-3; H -ATPase;

    Sammanfattning : In plants, 14-3-3 proteins are key regulators of primary metabolism and membrane transport. It was previously thought that the 14-3-3 isoforms were not very specific with regard to target proteins, but more recent data suggest that the specificity may be high. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Plasma Membrane H+-ATPase - Identification of a 14-3-3 binding motif

    Författare :Fredrik Svennelid; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; regulation; Plant biochemistry; Växtbiokemi; plasma membrane; plant; phosphorylation; isoforms; H -ATPase; fusicoccin; C terminus; binding motif; 14-3-3; autoinhibitory domain;

    Sammanfattning : The P-type plasma membrane H+-ATPases form a group of proteins only found in plants and fungi. The pumping of protons across the plasma membrane, energized by ATP hydrolysis, creates an electrochemical gradient that is essential for solute transport and internal pH regulation. LÄS MER
